Based in Ekaterinburg orchestra UYSO was founded in 2007. Its main goal was to work with orchestra musicians, combining educational functions and concert activities. The orchestra performs about 50 concerts and presents 40 programs every year).

UYSO collaborated with the many famous conductors, including Vladimir Fedoseyev, Saulius Sondeckis, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Peter Rundel, Thomas Zehetmair, Frank Beermann, Dmitry Liss, Mikhail Tsinman, Borja Quintas, Oleg Caetani, Lio Kuokman, Nobuaki Nakata, Bruno Weil, and Christoph Getschold. From 2014 the UYSO formed the core of the annual Summer Orchestra Academy project recognized by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2018).

Since 2019, the Orchestra has been taking part in the Russian Seasons International Cultural Project, representing the best creative forces of Russia abroad.

For 14 years Ural Youth Symphony Orchestra has been successfully combining educational functions and concert activities.

Ural Youth Symphony Orchestra (UYSO) was founded in 2007 in Yekaterinburg, Russia. It consists of students and graduates of musical education institutions of Yekaterinburg. The ensemble prepares orchestra musicians for domestic and foreign symphony collectives, combining educational function and concert activities. The Orchestra performs about 50 concerts and almost 40 programmers a year. The Orchestra’s Russian debut took place in 2009 in the Grand Hall of the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory as part of the Moscow Philharmonic subscription. Its first European performance took place in 2008 at the Euroorchestries festival in Charente-Maritime, France.

The Orchestra collaborated with the famous conductors: Vladimir Fedoseyev, Saulius Sondeckis, Dmitry Liss, Sergey Roldugin, Rustem Abyazov, Mikhail Tsinman, Sergey Krylov, Borja Quintas, Oleg Caetani, Lio Kuokman, Nobuaki Nakata, and Pavel Petrenko. As part of joint orchestras it performed under Bruno Weil, Christoph Getschold, Alexis Soriano, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Peter Rundel, Thomas Zehetmair, Frank Beermann. UYSO performed with such renowned soloists as Natalia Gutman, Alexander Rudin, Denis Matsuev, Sergei Roldugin, Arkady Shilkloper, Daniil Kramer, Valery Grokhovsky, Nikita Borisoglebsky, Andrey Korobeinikov, Dmitry Vasilyev, Ekaterina Derzhavina, Svyatoslav Moroz, Beatrice Magnani, David Kadouch, Pavel Milyukov, Haik Kazazyan, Alexander Ramm, Juan Manuel Cañizares.

The Orchestra participated in prestigious musical festivals, including Young Euro Classic in Berlin (Germany); Klassik Sommer in Hamm (Germany); Vadim Repin’s Trans-Siberian Art Festival in Lille (France); Varna Summer and Sofia Musical Weeks (Bulgaria); Universe-Svetlanov! in Moscow (Russia); La Folle Journee in Nantes, Pays de la Loire (France) Tokyo (Japan), Yekaterinburg (Russia); Crescendo in Moscow, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Pskov (Russia); Classic over Volga in Toghliatti (Russia); Philharmoniada in Kazan (Russia); Symphony Forum of Russia, Eurasia, Folle Journee, Denis Matsuev Presents…, Bach Fest and Be@thoven in Yekaterinburg (Russia).

Since 2014, the UYSO forms the core of the award-winning annual Summer Orchestra Academy’s creative outcome – the Tchaikovsky International Youth Orchestra, performing in Russia and Germany.

In 2018, UYSO led by Alexander Rudin recorded a CD with Myaskovsky’s symphonies nos.1 & 13 released by Naxos.

Since 2019, the Orchestra has been a member of the Russian Seasons International Cultural Project, representing the best creative forces of Russia abroad. As part of the project, along with the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra the  collective performed three concerts in North-West Germany and played three online concerts at the Stay home with Russian Seasons online platform.
