Alexandra Muravyeva, a talented Russian photographer with a unique style and true passion for “shooting the music”.

Alexandra has a wide experience shooting many well-known Russian musicians, conductors, ballet dancers and famous orchestras in various venues all over the world. She has a long-lasting collaboration with MusicaAeterna and Teodor Currentzis, as well as the ongoing project with shootings of the most outstanding conductors of our time. Especial shooting of two Russian ballet stars Diana Vishneva and Natalia Osipova is showing evanescence, strength and beauty of dance movements.

Alexandra’s pictures always give one an opportunity to see the magic of the moment and the beauty of the people making music.

Alexandra’s path to “shooting the music” started in childhood as her aunt was a music teacher and she was surrounded by music at home. Though she hasn’t become a musician, her special, confiding, respectful, even sacral attitude to a musical world hasn’t escaped since then. She began shooting early in life, learning from her father who had an avocational photo lab at home. As a photographer she took part in Miss Photo USSR 89 contest which has affected her range of interests and social network. In 2003 Alexandra enrolled the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Photography. Since then she had been passionately shooting models, events, weddings, sometimes concerts. On one of this concerts she met Denis Matsuev and this marked the start of a new chapter in Alexandras life giving her new sense of direction she wants to develop.

In 2016 she came to Perm to Teodor Currentzis and the musicAeterna orchestra’s concert, met the musicians and since then has been shooting their concerts, opera and ballet performances, behind the stage life on a regular basis. She continued working with many musicians and collectives of the highest rank.

Sasha produced her own unique style of shooting which provides an opportunity to see the magic of the moment and the beauty of the people making music. One of the ongoing projects are the portraits of the outstanding conductors of our time such as Teodor Currentzis, Vasily Petrenko, Aleksei Rubin, Vladimir Jurowski, Mikhail Pletnev, Thomas Hengelbrock.

She worked with famous artists such as Denis Matsyev, Asmik Grigoryan, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Lucas Debargue, Dmitry Sinkovskij and many others. She has done very special shootings of two Russian prima ballerinas Diana Vishneva and Natalia Osipova is showing evanescence, strength and beauty of their performance. Alexandra photographed concerts and performances in Moscow (Moscow Concervatory, Moscow Philarmonic), Perm (Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre),Wien (Wiener Konzerthaus), Milano (Theatro alla Scala), New York (The Shed), Berlin (Berliner Philharmoniker),Tokyo, Salzburg (Felsenreitschule).

She has been regularly shooting annual Diagilev festival (Perm, Russia) from 2016 to 2021 and had there her personal photo exhibition Music Motion.
